Forest Electric New York installed electrical power and communications systems as part of a massive scoreboard replacement project at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.

Our work began with demolition of electrical service for two existing scoreboards. Then our team installed a new 2,000-amp service, a 1,000-kilovolt-amp (kVA) transformer, a 750-kVA transformer, and a 500-kVA transformer, along with six distribution boards and 30 branch circuit panelboards. Over 2,000 circuits feed the new signage.

The project commenced in December and, in order to be operational for opening day, had to be completed by the end of March. We had over 100 electricians on site at the project’s peak, working 60-plus-hour weeks, to help ensure we met this critical deadline.

At the time of completion, the scoreboard was the largest of its kind in Major League Baseball.
