The Institute of Culinary Education

Forest NY installed electrical infrastructure and systems for this state-of-the-art new facility, including new kitchen and classroom equipment.

Value Delivered

Forest Electric New York (Forest NY) installed electrical infrastructure for this new 44,000-square-foot facility, including state-of-the-art kitchens and classrooms. Forest NY was responsible for the facility’s power infrastructure, light fixtures and controls, and fire suppression systems.

We assembled a team of dedicated experts with experience handling similar kitchen systems and equipment. By coordinating with systems vendors to procure various equipment, Forest NY helped successfully complete the project on-schedule.

Client Objectives

The Institute of Culinary Education relocated to a newly-renovated space to accommodate a growing student body.

Solutions

Forest NY installed new transformers and distribution panels, which provide power to thirteen commercial-grade kitchens, classrooms, and open-space areas. Our team outfitted the facility with fire suppression control panels, as well as hood controls that tie together all kitchen systems.

We also installed modern LED light fixtures and dimming controls, which are customizable in each specific kitchen. For the institute’s audio-visual equipment, we provided power and an empty conduit system.

Finally, we installed a new fire alarm system. This system features individual controls, fan shutdowns, and notifications for each kitchen unit—all while adhering to strict fire alarm requirements.

Client Background

The Institute of Culinary Education is an accredited for-profit culinary school.
